Tomorrow Is Never Promised

It's easy for all of us to lose sight of that. We wake each morning and our day goes primarily to plan most every day. We might have a hiccup or two along the way but the day eventually passes and we're on to the next. Sometimes we make the most of those days and sometimes we don't. Maybe we could have been more productive, worked a little harder during a workout, called a friend or parent to simply catch up but we didn't and don't think much of it because there is always tomorrow. Right?

Not always. When speaking with friends about missed workouts because of inopportune business dinners or personal issues or any number of things, I like to remind them that sometimes "life happens". We can't control everything (despite my best efforts). Sometimes life happens. And when it does, plans have to change.

Sometimes when life happens things have to change in a more radical way. Sometimes when life happens you realize that getting your workout in that evening isn't actually all that important. Making sure you hit that deadline at work becomes irrelevant. Sometimes it helps remind you of whats important in this life. In case you forget or start to take for granted certain things.

Tomorrow is never promised to any of us. Make the most of today. Make sure those closest to you know that you love them. Hug your sibling, call your parents, thank the person who opened a door for you. Live without regret.

But most importantly, never lose sight of whats important in this life and never take those things for granted.
